Welcome to Wyoming!

It's official, we now are working for the Forest Service in the Uinta Mountains outside of Evanston Wyoming! We are having a lot of fun getting to know the area a little better. The house that we are in for the summer is really neat! We are surrounded by tall trees, the bear river, and a female moose that loves the location also! The other night ben and I went for a walk next to the river, and turned around to see this moose looking at us like "what the heck are you doing in my forest". My instinct told me to run because this thing is BIG, but of course ben was the one saying "ah man lets try to get closer to it"! After talking to other rangers they said that the moose loves that area, and hangs out there all the time. I also learned that the Uintas are suppost to have one of the largest populations of moose this side of Alaska. Ben is going to fire school next week to get his red card, so if there is a fire they can send him out to whereever it is. I know this is bad, but I almost hope there is a fire, because it is great pay!!! Today we went into Evanston which is 32 miles from the forest where we are staying. The city was having Bear Fest! It was a lot of fun, ben and I entered into a canoe race that went around the lake. There were 9 other contenders, and somehow our time ended up in the top three, so we raced again. The last race was fun because it was against The Park Service, and Trout Unlimited, which are both groups that are in great shape, So it was a lot more competitive and fun! I have a tone to catch you all up on, but my internet time is running short, and I still have to post some pictures. So next time I come into town I will tell you more about our adventures!!!
Strapin' up for the big race
Getting into starting position (they are never cheap on anything, including the life jackets!!!)

This is a view of the mountains (and ben) from the ranger station

I would have loved to have seen you two racing, you guys are animals, reminded me of when Dave and I rented a canoe for the weekend and he had me stop paddling at one point because he thought it was me who was steering us off course, I had to smile a little when it still went off course with just him paddling : ), we need to plan a weekend to come see you two, happy late one year anniversary, glad it was such a great year, they just get better too, something to look forward to, love you both!
